Ready Player One – “Spielberg 80’s Nostalgia at its best”

With it being Easter weekend, it was the perfect chance to escape to the movies to watch the new movie “Ready Player One” directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the book by Ernest Cline.

I have to admit that I didn’t get chance to read the book before the movie release so Team Loulou and Mo (Loulou, Mo and Alli) had no idea of what was in store with this movie.  Were we disappointed?  Not at all, we loved every minute of this fast paced, graphically awesome movie filled to the brim with geeky pop culture references.

 5 out 5

“Made me realise I’m much more of a geek than I first thought! Brilliant from start to finish – Spielberg set a movie in the future that managed to take us back to our childhoods” – Alli

“Best movie this year!” –  Mo

Outshines all other sci-fi movies” – Loulou

Its 2045 and the world has descended into choas and confusion with the only salvation for humanity being the OASIS, a virtual reality experience created by the quirky computer genius James Halliday.  Upon Halliday’s death, the inhabitants of this virtual experience, must compete to find the easter egg and gain ultimate control over the OASIS.

You can expect a movie filled with 80’s nostalgia, the best computer game experience you will see on the big screen and a killer soundtrack.
