A spoiler free review of the new DC Comics movie, Justice League.

With the mercury hitting 35 degrees today in Perth, it was definitely a genius move to hit the cinema after school for a few hours in the air con with Loulou and Mo. !

After the death of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman become allies in an attempt to recruit members to an allegiance to fight the threat of the super baddy Steppenwolf.  The Justice League is formed when The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg join forces.

Wow where to start with the stellar cast for this movie.

Jason Momoa, makes his second appearance as Aquaman and deservedly is reportedly making a stand alone Aquaman movie due for release in 2018.  Physically impressive and commanding on screen, the casting directors made a good choice here.  If you think you might recognise this mortal god, he was Khal Drogo (husband of Khaleesi) in Game of Thrones and starred in TV shows such as Stargate Atlantis and The Red Road.

Ray Fisher returns to the DC Extended universe as Cyborg (Arthur Curry) and he was definitely one of our favourite characters in the movie.  Dark, brooding and sullen, his character develops gradually throughout the movie.

The Flash is played by Ezra Miller (Fantastic Beasts & where to find them, Perks of being a Wallflower) and despite Loulou and Mo preferring Grant Gustin from The Flash TV series they both agreed Ezra played a good Flash.  He is a great actor and brings comedy to the movie.

Gal Gadot returns as the Amazonian Princess, Wonder Woman and is impressive yet again. Miss Loulou’s favourite character from the movie.

So now to Batman, well all I can say is that I have an eternal dislike for Ben Affleck as the caped crusader and this movie did nothing to change my mind.  My love of the Dark Knight Trilogy just means any other portrayal of Batman will just be disappointing.  Sorry Batman …..

DEFINITELY! – 4 out 5

Miss Loulou (age 14) gave this movie 4 out of 5 – A great movie but I was disappointed they didn’t use the original Flash from the TV series.  Favourite character?  Wonderwoman

Miss Mo (age 10) gave this movie 4.5 out 5 – An absolutely amazing movie and I loved Cyborg but it made me sad how he ended up as the Cyborg.

Alli?  I would agree and give this movie 4 out of 5.  Great cast, action packed and visually impressive.  Shame about Batman though.  A great family movie.
